Disney star Tiffany Thornton's husband Christopher Carney dies in car crash

Carney, whose mother is the mayor of Hot Springs, Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene, Arkansas State Police told local station THV11. Another passenger, Ezekial Blanton, was also pronounced dead."The City of Hot Springs Board of Directors, staff and employees extend their heartfelt sympathy to Mayor Ruth Carney, Rev. Ken Carney, Tiffany Thornton Carney, and the entire family upon the death of Chris Carney in a car accident which occurred early this morning," the Hot Springs city board staff said in a statement. "Please keep the Carney family in your thoughts and prayers at this time."Carney was married to former "Sonny With a Chance" star Thornton since 2011. They have two sons.

Thornton currently works for radio station KLAZ 105.9, which shared on Facebook: "Our hearts are breaking at KLAZ and Noalmark Broadcasting.Our Tiffany Thornton's husband died in an auto crash last night. Please send up your prayers for Tiffany and her family.She is loved by us and our many listeners."Carney is best known for his work as the lead singer in the band "The Prom Kings." He was featured in the MTV show "twentyfourseven" that followed him and his younger brother Greg's move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.Thornton, 29, is also mourning the recent loss of one of her best friends. She shared on Instagram Thursday, "One of my very best friends is gone and the place she holds in my heart will never be filled."
