MY TOP 12 ACNE PREVENTING TIPS

1:  Exfoliate Weekly
It's very important to exfoliate weekly to slough off dead skin.  Without exfoliation, you have sebum (oil) and dead skin trapped below dead skin in your follicles, and this leads to the acne causing bacteria and ultimately, breakouts.

Peels:  peels are more gentler than scrubs, for those with sensitive skin, peels are a better option as they are not abrasive.  Our organic Deep Sea Mineral Peel can be used weekly.  It contains organic willow bark extract to gently exfoliate, purify and soothe the skin and Bladderwrack Seaweed Extract to help nourish and purify the skin of toxins that cause dryness, wrinkles and excess fluid retention.
Scrubs: Use a scrub 2-3 times a week.  I prefer to keep it in my shower, it's easier to rinse off. For a littler deeper exfoliation, use a scrub it with your Clarisonic.
2:  Use A Growth Factor Serum :Growth factors speed up healing and cell turnover and are amazing at quickly getting rid of the blemish and also lifting any hyperpigmentation left behind.  Use our EGF Activating Serum twice daily every day to prevent breakouts and heal them quickly if they do surface
3:  Use A High Frequency Device :These devices are a fantastic way to control breakouts.  The argon gas creates oxygen that kills the bacteria below the layers of your skin.  You can use it everyday, just keep the following in mind:

1. Make sure not to crank up the intensity beyond level 2 or 3. You should just feel it.
2. The further away from the skin the deeper it goes, so fold a piece of gauze in half and move in circular motion on the acne lesions.
3. The device comes with a large sheet of gauze. Just cut into small pieces and fold over once you want to work in small areas around your face.
4. Remove your make up and cleanse your face before using the device.
5. After cleansing, apply serums before using the device.
The spoon shaped head is good for under eye to help circulation and helps with puffiness. Just be sure to use your eye cream first.

6:  Change Your Pillow Sheet Every Nighty :our skin goes into regeneration mode during the night, and we shed dead skin and release oils onto our pillow sheets.  It's important for acne prone skin to change the pillowcase every evening to avoid putting your freshly cleansed face onto a dirty pillowcase.  I always tell my clients to go to Ross or Target and grab some inexpensive pillow sheets, they always thank me for it!
5:  Cleanse With a Fresh Face Towel Every DayWashcloths are harsh on your skin and a fertile breeding ground for bacteria.  They defeat the entire purpose of your meticulous daily skincare regimen.  Make sure to change your face towel every day!  StackedSkincare sells a unique and conveniently packaged 100% bamboo face towel kit with 7 face towels in a bamboo bag
6:  Stay Away From Dairy :Milk, cheese and eggs are full of anabolic hormones and can significantly worsen breakouts.  Try sheep or goat cheese and coconut or almond milk as alternatives.

7:  Eat Healthy :Stay away from processed foods and load up on veggies, antioxidants, and healthy fats like omega 3s. Beautiful skin starts from the inside, so eating foods low in sugar and loaded with vitamins is essential.

8:  Clean All Of Your Gadgets With Disinfectant Wipes! That includes your cell phone, key board, mouse, ipad, etc.  Make sure you wipe down the devices you are touching everyday.  We tend to touch our faces a lot more than we think, so it's imperative to keep these devices disinfected to avoid acne causing bacteria on your face. Keep antibacterial wipes at your desk and use them everyday!

9:  Moisturize properly Even if you feel oily, you need proper moisture to maintain a healthy lipid barrier and keep your skin acne free. If you don't moisturize, your oil glands will go into over drive and produce more oil, causing an even worse breakout.  Try our HA Hydrating Serum, it's light and provides just the right amount of moisture for oily and acne skin.  Watch our video

10:  Remove Makeup Before Cleansing Remove makeup with jojoba oil on dry skin.  Jojoba oil is a non comedogenic oil that is inexpensive and easy to use. Apply jojoba oil, wet hands and rub in circular motion. Then wipe your make up off with a clean towel, and then cleanse your face with the appropriate cleanser.

11:  Try A Sulfur Mask Sulfur has natural antibiotic properties that inhibit bacterial growth, making it a perfect mask for killing acne bacteria.  You can purchase the powder at health food stores in bulk and make your own mask.
Mix:  1/4t Sulfur Powder, 1T Apple Cider Vinegar, 1T Distilled Water and 1/4 tab of Asprin powdered until a yogurt consistency. Apply after cleansing and steaming face. Let dry and remove with warm wash cloth.
Make sure to cleanse your face and steam it over a pot before applying the mask, let the mask harden and then rinse with a warm wash cloth and apply your serums, and moisturizer.

12:  Apply Broadband SPF  The sun is inflammatory and you need to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays.  Always apply broadband SPF 30 or 50, even on cloudy days.
