Club Brugge beat league-leaders

KV Oostende too had their chances. The Club Brugge keeper Bruzzese was able to stop a goal-bound header from the former Club player Rozehnal.
Club Brugge took the lead ten minutes when Gedoz scored on the rebound after his penalty kick was saved by Ovono. Things went from bad to worse for KV Oostende when Capon was sent off for a foul on Capon on 35 minutes (bottom photo).
KV Oostende better in the second half
Despite being a man down, KV Oostende was the better team early in the second half. Akpala was close to an equaliser but his effort was saved by an alert Bruzzese.
Ironically, it wasn’t until Club Brugge’s Izquierdo was sent off for his second bookable offence of the match that they started to improve.
However, Gedoz and Vazquez substituted it wasn’t until Tuur Dierckx was brought in up front that Club Brugge came close to testing Ovono again.
In an excite closing stage, KV Oostende came close to an equaliser. However, it was not to be and KVO suffered their second defeat of the season.
